Health Week: What Drove Mannie Ramos Jr. to Lose 45lbs. in Less Than 90 Days?

It has been almost a year to the day that I decided to make my commitment to be healthier. I took a trip to Saint Maarten with my friends and most of them are NFL athletes. So naturally I was ashamed to even take my shirt off that week (haha). Honestly, that trip was my moment of reckoning. All the confidence I had was sucked out by my poor health decisions. So the day we got back, I vowed to myself that I was not going to continue to be unhealthy. I started off with very easy goals and I told myself I was going to cut out fast food and work out at least three days a week. I did not want to give myself lofty goals because once I didn’t or couldn’t reach them, I would find myself discouraged.

I noticed that subconsciously I was finding myself making the better health choices. It became so second nature that I did not even miss the unhealthy stuff. I found myself sleeping better and having more positive thoughts about life. We do not realize how much our physical health attributes to our mental health. I found myself down from 305 lbs to 260 lbs in less than 90 days. I just felt motivation to do even more. If I didn’t lose this weight I would not be here in Los Angeles pursuing my dream of becoming an actor.

I also believe my physical health brought me closer on the right path to my spiritual journey. I approach this year-mark so proud of where I came from and my journey was the best part.  I encourage you to be the commander of your destiny. Pray for strength every day and you can’t go wrong.
