Purpose, passion and pursuit:
As we grow and life takes its course, many of the passions we once had cease. As we mature, the experience of life creates anew. Unique situations and circumstances we encounter can affect our paths in many ways. I don’t know one person who at some point hasn’t sought to find their life’s purpose. Purpose is the gift that is inside of you, specifically assigned to you to be shared with others. This gift generates positivity, beauty and challenges you to evolve. Passion is a zeal for discovery. It sets your heart on fire. Pursuit are the steps taken when positioning yourself to qualify for your purpose by actively seeking what is envisioned for your life.
Connecting with Christ helps you determine your purpose. In Proverbs 16:9 we read, “The heart of a man plans his way, but it is the Lord that establishes his steps.” By identifying with the characteristics of your creator, you learn the foundation and discover whom and whose you are. Once you’ve tapped into whom you are in Christ by believing you CAN become all he has created you to be, you discover the beauty of life in the little things and realize it’s Him working on your behalf through it all. In order to believe, you must actively pursue him. One cannot be passionate about God if they don’t know the character of God and his intended purpose in their life.
The world says, pursue your passions no matter the cost, in the hopes they will become your purpose. While God says, pursue me with passion and I will manifest your purpose. Imagine a triangle: the top point is your purpose, left is your passion, and right is your pursuit. Each side is needed to intercede and function properly. If one side is removed, the vision collapses. But with God at the top, you to the left, and his purpose for your life to the right- no matter which way you turn the triangle, you cannot fail.
Position yourself to be qualified by allowing God to create a life that is not just successful on the outside, but on the inside as well. Have determination. Have faith. Know that God has equipped you to share your purpose in a mighty way. Get in tune with His presence. Search for God with an open heart and renewed mind and He will surely direct your path. For when you work for the goodness of God, His promises work for you.
“11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”- Jeremiah 29:11-13
