Prayer when Seeking Validation

LORD, I desire to live as Christ’s servant and not as a people pleaser. I realize that I cannot seek the approval of others as I live for you. It is your approval alone that I seek; the approval that really counts.

Help me speak and act in boldness and love as I serve you. Keep me from swiftly leaning towards the thoughts of others.

Teach me, Lord, to have a servant’s heart.

To give and not to seek validation;

To be kind at all times;

To have patience with others;

To labor and not ask for any reward.

I am no longer enslaved by the thoughts or opinions of others. Amen.

“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.  For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
