How I Found My Why and How You Can Find Yours!

How I Found My Why and How You Can Find Yours!

 Your Why

Why you do something is more important than what you do, because it is your why that is the motive that keeps you in pursuit. I’ll never forget being in my college class (RLS 122) because it was that semester that I was crying in tears because I finally discovered the whole reason for my existence. I found out in that class about my innate desire to encourage and uplift others through media and other forms.

What’s your Why? How come you do what you do? Hopefully I can you help you discover yours.

I grew up in a strict African household, which I am thankful for, but this dynamic upbringing helped me to realize that I had an unfulfilled need for encouragement. Since I wasn’t receiving it, I went seeking for it from friends, girls, and in many other wrong places. It wasn’t till I came to God that I found a consistent motivating power that never runs dry. It was like an epiphany that shot across my mind and I realized if I needed this encouragement, how many other people needed to be encouraged? Thus Being Encouraged was born! It started off with text messages to my friends…that wasn’t enough. Facebook messages on my friends walls….that wasn’t enough.  And at last Being Encouraged, which seeks to be a hub of encouragement for anyone who needs it 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I will not stop seeking bigger and better ways to encourage more people.

Now back to Why I wrote this article….You are Why I wrote this article… You have to find what makes you tick- ask yourself, what angers you? What problem that people face bothers you to no end? Whose pain do you feel? What would you do for the rest of your life for free? You must ask yourself these questions…When you find your WHY the HOW, WHO, and WHAT won’t matter.

He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.
Friedrich Nietzsche

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. — 1 John 4:11-12
